Last week we did the career. The careers that I chose were an Archivist and Editor. The job description for an Archivist is to appraise, edit, and direct safekeeping of permanent records and historically valuable documents, as well as participate in research activitires, based on archival materials. The skills required for this job are: skills in the English Language, History, Computer, Administration and Management, Clerical, and law and Government. The education require is a Masters degree. As a career, I might choose this, however, I don't know if I would like to spend most of the rest of my life keeping records, and tabs on things. My second career for the career cluster of ARTS was Editor. The job description for an Editor is to plan, coordinate, or edit content of material for publication. They may proposals and drafts for possible publication. The skills that are required for this job are: skills in the English Language, Communications and Media, Computers and Electronics, REading Comprehension, and Writing. The education required for this job is a bachelors degree. I don't believe that I would want to do this career because I am very bad at the English Language.

My True Color.

Yesterday in Career Exploration we had a guest speaker come in and talk about each individuals' true color. We took a quiz type packet that would help us determine what are true colors are. My true color was orange. What this means is that I am apparently optimistic, eager, and physical. This would affect any job choice that I would have because I would apparently have to have a hand on job, and active job. The guest speaker that we had said that are second highest color choice would affect our first choice. My second highest color was green. What that means is that I am calm, collected, and logical. This will affect my career choice because I would have active, scientific like career. Grammar errors permitted.

True Colors for my Friends

Today in Career Exploration, we are discussing the True Colors assestment that we are going to be doing next week. There are four colors that a person can be catergorized into. Those four colors are blue, gold, green, and orange. An blue person is calm, and deep in thought. A gold person is responsible, organized and on time. A green person is one who is logical. A orange person is one who is exciting and interesting and dynamic. The four people that I am going to catergorize are Salem, Josh, Robert, and Jeremy. Salem I would describe as a gold person, because he is very business like about all life processes. Josh I would catergorize as a blue person, because he is very funny, therefore he calms people down. Robert would be catergorize as a green person, because he is logical about life. I would catergorize Jeremy as a orange person, because he is energetic about life and this class.

True Colors for my Teachers.

Today in my Career Exploration we are discussing the True Colors assestment that we are going to be taking next week. Therefore, my teacher of this class ask me to catergorize four teachers out of the eight into the four colors of the True Colors assestment. Those four colors are blue, gold, green, and orange. An blue person is calm, and deep in thought. A gold person is responsible, organized and on time. A green person is one who is logical. A orange person is one who is exciting and interesting and dynamic. The four teachers that I am going to choose for this assestment are: Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Boyers, Mrs. Rigdon, and Mr. Happ. Mrs. Wilson is green person. The reason I think this is because she is a science teacher, more specifically a biology teacher, therefore she would have to use some kind of logic in her daily life. I would descibe Mr. Boyers as a blue person. I would do this because he has a very laid, back, and relaxed teacher who always clam. Mrs. Rigdon is most likely an orange person. I would describe her like this because she is full of energy, and always enthusiastic about her job. Mr. Happ I would describe as a gold person, because he is always on time for class and very business like about his job.

Learning Styles

Today in Career Exploration we took a learing styles test. The three catergories are auditory, visual, and tactile or hands on. The career that came out on top for me was auditory. What this means to me is that I am able to learn better via sound. I think this will impact my education, because most of the teachers in my school teach using their voice, therefore I can am able to learn better. I will be able to use this to make my life easier in high school because I can listen more intently and therefore learn better. This will also help me throughout life because most careers/jobs use communication via language and therefore most of the time auditory.

Architecture and Construction Careers

This week and last week during my Career Exploration class at my high school we reasearched the cluster Architecture and Constuction. The careers that I researched during these past two weeks were Brickmasons and Pipelayers. Basically what a Brickmason does is lay and bind building materials , such as brick, concrete block, cinder block, with mortar and other substances, to construct or repair structures, and other structures lay and bind building materials , such as brick, structural tile, concrete block, with mortar and other substances, to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, sewers, and other structures, using hammers, levels, and jacks. The other career I picked was a Pipelayer. What they do is lay, mantain, and clean pipes for buildings and other structures, using power grinders, shovels, and water pumps. I don't believe that I would do any of these careers because I reallly don't think I would like the working conditions. I like physical activity, but not every day for the rest of the my life.

The connections that I was able to make between the two careers that I did in Human Services are what follows. First of all my two careers are Loan Counselors and a Barber. The connections that I can make between these two careers are that they both serve people relating to common things in life. Also, the Work Values and Work Styles are very similar between the careers. The interest are also very similar, (enterprising, social, and conventional). So basically the careers, serve that public in all basic funtions of life
